Who We're Looking For
All Members must be enrolled students at Santa Clara University, including but not limited to full or part-time students, undergraduate or graduate students. Members must be over the age of 18, per the Formula SAE rules.
At Santa Clara Formula SAE, individuals of all academic backgrounds are welcome to apply and participate, and engage in club activities. There are no limitations or requirements of class standing or knowledge. Many of the basic technical aspects of Formula SAE will not be taught in classes at Santa Clara University, so new team members will be taught by existing members and leads. First-year students who show a willingness to learn can still contribute greatly to the project, and it should be the responsibility of existing members to teach them the basics of FSAE, which may include basic engineering principles that can be learned in classes.
Many privileges will be offered to the student, such as a prime experience to meet with industry professionals and department advisors, access to special courses and machining privileges after approved training, and engagement in hands-on engineering activities that are not offered in a regular course load, and many more.
