Who We're Looking For
All Members must be enrolled students at Santa Clara University, including full or part-time students, undergraduate or graduate students. Members must be over the age of 18, per the Formula SAE rules.
At Santa Clara Formula SAE, individuals of all academic backgrounds are welcome to apply and participate. There are no limitations or requirements of class standing or knowledge. First-year students who show a willingness to learn can still contribute greatly to the project.

The club allocates budget for essential swag and gear for members with waivers. We also seek funding to subsidize travel, accommodation, and competition fees for members with financial need.
Our Subteams
Choose the area that interests you most—no prior experience required.
Design and fabricate the tubular steel space frame, body panels, driver ergonomics, and structural components.
Develop suspension geometry, uprights, control arms, and tuning for optimal handling and performance.
Design and integrate the electric motor, gearbox, drivetrain, and mechanical power delivery systems.
Design the custom battery pack, thermal management, battery management systems, and cooling solutions.
Build sensor networks, data acquisition, driver interface, lighting systems, and the vehicle state machine.
Handle business development, sponsorships, marketing, photography, videography, and team logistics.
